Summer Reading Challenge
Marvellous Makers!
Lincs Inspire Libraries are ready for this year’s creative themed summer reading challenge, a free activity inspiring a love of reading for children aged 4+.
About
The Summer Reading Challenge takes place every summer holiday throughout the UK. Run by national charity The Reading Agency, and delivered with the support of the UK public library network, it is the UK’s biggest free reading promotion for primary school aged children. The Challenge regularly reaches over 700,000 children each year, motivating children to keep reading during the summer and helping to build reading skills and confidence.
1. Register
Register for the challenge at any Lincs Inspire Library from Friday 19th July and pick up your start up pack.
2. Read
Set your reading goals and then read anything you like! (Including books, eBooks, eMagazines and audiobooks).
3. Earn Rewards!
After reading one book you will receive a certificate and a medal! You can continue to read books and rate them on your starter pack to complete your own personal challenge.
Creative PRIZES!
- Be in with a chance to WIN some amazing prizes (including a ukele, spirograph and origami kit!) by entering our raffle.
- Follow our library trails across our branches throughout the summer.

Activities start from Friday 19th July at Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Immingham and Waltham Libraries.
School Competition!
All children that complete the Summer Reading Challenge will be asked to name the school they attend.
The school with the most children to complete the challenge will be crowned 2024 winners and receive our Lincs Inspire Summer Reading Challenge Cup to keep for the year, alongside a Certificate to display at your school!
