Sponsored Jump in aid of military charity
Lincs Inspire member’s brave challenge for charity
For an unforgettable 68th birthday, Janice who attends our Evergreens group and senior circuits at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, has challenged herself to a tandem parachute jump to raise money for Blesma – the Military Charity for Limbless Veterans.
Janice, who admits she doesn’t have a head for heights, said: “Blesma has been very good to my daughter, Lisa, who was a medic in the army for 18 years.
“Lisa had an above the knee amputation in 2016 and has gone on to compete in the Warrior Games, funded by Blesma, and more recently Invictus Games winning 10 medals in total, four of them gold.
“Lisa was even awarded the first gold medal for the UK in the Invictus Games last year, that was for shot-put and we even managed to get a photo of her with Prince Harry!
“The money I raise will go to this great charity to thank them for all the support they’ve given Lisa and my family.”
Janice’s jump takes place on 20th October. We wish you all the luck, Janice, ahead of the big day.
