Class Descriptions

Our full list of exercise classes are listed alphabetically below. Bookings can be made 7 days in advance for members and 6 days for pay-as-you-go members.

Abs Blast – 30 minute blast focusing on abdominal exercises to improve your core strength.

Aerobics – Choreographed exercises to music. Classes last 45 minutes and offer a total-body workout that can help develop stamina, endurance, and mobility.

Aqua Aerobics – A fun and invigorating all over body workout in water to effectively burn those calories.

Aqua (Deep Water) – A non-weight bearing form of exercise, so the range of movement and intensity is far greater than you can achieve on dry land and most importantly without the impact.

Back Care Yoga – A speciality class that uses simple yoga moves to strengthen your back and reduce tension.

BODYATTACK™ – A high-energy fitness class with moves that cater for total beginners to total addicts. We combine athletic movements like running, lunging and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats.

Body Balance – Ideal for anyone and everyone, Body Balance is the yoga-based class that will improve your mind, your body and your life. During Body Balance an inspired soundtrack plays as you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates.

Body Blast – A combination of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) mixed with resistance exercises. Moves such as burpees, squat thrusts, sprints and power jumps are combined with resistance work such as squats, lunges and press-ups.

Body Conditioning – A variety of traditional and new techniques to help you sculpt, tone and re-shape. Delivering all-round benefits from head to toe, through toning exercises that you can do at your own level using a small amount of equipment.

BodyCombat™ – A high-energy martial arts-inspired workout that is totally non-contact. No experience needed. Learn moves from Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay Thai, Capoeira and Kung Fu.

Balance Fusion – All the styles of Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates, helping tone and stretch your body with great music to help relax the mind.

BodyPump™ – A class for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.

Body Sculpture – Using Tabata style intervals, a great class to condition every part of the body.

Cardio Blast – A high energy, fun cardio class focused on fitness and stamina. You will be burning calories, improving fitness and improving muscle tone with athletic and strength moves such as jacks, jogging, press ups and sit ups, maybe a nod to our favourite 80’s aerobics sessions too! All the moves can be adapted to suit all levels of fitness.

Chair Based Yoga – a gentle form of yoga that can be done seated on a chair or use the chair for support when standing. The benefits are improved balance, flexibility concentration and strength. Chair Yoga also helps with reducing tension, aiding relaxation and reduces the stress on joints. This is ideal for people who would love to try yoga but who may struggle with moving from standing to kneeling, lying down or who would require support and balance.

Circuits – A mixture of activities to target strength building and muscular endurance. A circuit involves aerobics, step, weights usage, toning and other areas of exercise to benefit body conditioning.

Circuits (Seniors) – tailored for people aged over 55.

Clubbercise® – Fun, easy-to-follow dance workout with glow sticks & disco lights. Club anthems from 90s to today’s hits. For those aged 13 years plus.

Core Strength – This class focuses on strengthening the abdominals and back muscles. Different exercises will help to create a stronger, leaner torso and better posture. It’s suitable for all levels as the exercises can be adapted to suit.

Evergreens – Evergreens are a fun exercise session where you can choose an activity no matter what your level. Designed for those over 55, it’s a great way of keeping active and maintaining your mobility.

Forever Fit Aqua – This class is a water based class with low intensity and low impact exercises which is a great way to exercise for anyone struggling with certain medical conditions such as arthritis, knee problems etc.

Friday Feeling– A dance orientated group exerice class. An energised all body workout to get you ready for the weekend.

Group Cycling – A fitness class on a bike – the ultimate fitness journey. This will take you to all levels through controlled gear changes, enabling you to work at your own level. Intensity ranges from low to high and will burn those calories and improve your fitness.

GRIT™ Cardio – A 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that improves cardiovascular fitness, increase speed and maximize calorie burn. This workout uses a variety of body weight exercises and provides the challenge and intensity you need to get results fast.

GRIT™ Plyo –  A 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) plyometric-based workout, designed to make you perform like an athlete. This workout uses a bench and combines explosive jumping exercises with agility training to increase explosiveness and to build a lean and athletic body.

GRIT™ Strength – A 30-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout, designed to improve strength and build lean muscle. This workout uses barbell, weight plate and body weight exercises to blast all major muscle groups.

HIIT – or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.

The Jungle Body – Jagua–a body sculpting and conditioning class with ballet and dance choreographed to hip hop, pop, afro and old school music!

Kettle Bells – strength, endurance and muscle toning by challenging the muscular and cardiovascular systems with dynamic, total body movements.

LBT – Legs, bums, tums – A class designed to help firm and tone the lower body. A combination of bodyweight, small hand weights and mat work in a fun effective class. For those aged 14 years plus.

Low Impact Circuits – A variety of different exercises to work all aspects of fitness using basic equipment and bodyweight. Each participant is encouraged to work at their own level to suit their ability. A fun social class.

Pilates – A non-impact class designed to improve strength, flexibility, body alignment as well as core and back strength.

Pure Abs – This short abs session helps to strengthen and tone your core muscles, and helps improve posture. For those aged 14 years plus.

RIP – A full body workout using weighted bars and resistance. Incorporates moderate weights and high reps to burn fat and build lean muscle.

Salsa Aerobics – This low impact class mixes up traditional aerobic moves with some sizzling salsa dance moves.

Step – Using simple moves on a step this class is low impact with added benefits of toning up those legs. For those aged 14 years plus.

Strength and Stretch – A class that improves flexibility and tones up muscles. A good way to reduce tension, improve posture and tone-up.

Strike – A high intensity martial arts based class concentrating on strong elements and strike movements to create a full body work out. This class will make you burn calories and help towards toning muscle.

Strong – A high intensity interval class (HIIT), incorporating body weight exercises with muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric moves, ideal for building strength, muscle tone and cardio fitness.

SwimFit – An alternative way to work out in the pool. Instructor led sessions with floats and paddles to help you lose weight, tone up, improve your technique and become fitter and stronger. Customers attending need to be able to swim 50 metres (recognised stroke) either front crawl or breaststroke.

Tabata – A non-impact class designed to improve strength, flexibility, body alignment as well as core and back strength.

Tai Chi – Regular practise of Tai Chi can increase flexibility, strength and balance. There is emphasis on correct posture which develops a greater awareness of the body. It is a very effective exercise for the health of the mind and body, which at the heart of it is a moving meditation. Breathing is used to aid visual and mental concentration and it helps people to feel more relaxed and grounded. This can help to lower anxiety and stress whilst improving focus and aiding sleep. Movements are fluid, slow, smooth and focused.

Water Therapy – This water therapy session is tailored for Parkinson’s and Stroke patients and includes a fully qualified instructor. Carer’s are welcome to attend free of charge when accompanying a patient. Access to the pool is via a pool-side lift which lowers into the pool, alongside a pool-side hoist. A mobile over-head tracking hoist is available in the disability changing area.

Wellbeing Yoga – a more gentle form of Yoga ideal for people on our GP referral programmes (including Active Forever), those with medical conditions or not used to regular exercise.

Chair Based Yoga – a gentle form of yoga that can be done seated on a chair or use the chair for support when standing. The benefits are improved balance, flexibility concentration and strength. Chair Yoga also helps with reducing tension, aiding relaxation and reduces the stress on joints. This is ideal for people who would love to try yoga but who may struggle with moving from standing to kneeling, lying down or who would require support and balance.

Yoga
– one of the world’s most practiced spiritual workouts to bring your body in harmony with your mind through posture, poses and breathing. Helps to relieve stress through the art of relaxation and correct body alignment.

Yogalates- Yogalates is a mixture of Yoga and Pilates. It’s great for beginners, but also for the more experienced.

Wellbeing Yoga– Ideal for people on our GP referral programmes, those with medical conditions, or not used to exercise. Customers requiring assistance should bring their personal assistant (PA), to aid them within the class. PAs should only assist and will not be able to take part in the class.

Zumba – This fun and spicy hip swirling workout takes you on a dance journey with music and moves from Latin America, Africa and the Caribbean. This class is mixed impact with medium/low intensity. For those aged 14 years plus.

Class booking policy

Monthly subscription members can book classes online or via the Lincs Inspire Leisure App up to seven days in advance. Pay as you go members can book classes up to six days in advance.

To attend a class you must have a Lincs Inspire card. Cards are available for free at reception or you can register online.

Fitness classes are open to anyone 16 years and above. Some are available to those aged 13 years and above, as noted in the class descriptions.

We please ask that any changes or cancellations for pay as you go members are made at least 24 hours before the start of the class, failure to do so may result in a charge.

We please ask that any changes or cancellations for monthly subscription members are made at least 3 hours before the start of the class, failure to do so may result in a strike.

  • Please swipe your membership card or check-in at reception when you arrive – your attendance will then be recorded on our booking system and your account.
  • Please ensure you come prepared and suitably dressed for your class.
  • Most of our fitness classes are suitable for all and our instructors can tailor exercises, poses and routines depending on your ability. If you have any injuries, please talk to each instructor before your class.
  • Please speak to our instructors about the suitability of our group exercise classes during pregnancy.
