Healthy Weight Management

A 12 week programme supporting healthy weight loss and management through encouragement, support, and guidance from our trained wellbeing coaches. Free thanks to Government funding.

There is no requirement to be an existing Lincs Inspire member to join the programme.

Eligibility criteria

To attend you must meet the following criteria:

  • Aged 18+
  • NE Lincolnshire resident
  • BMI of 25 or more (or a lower BMI of 23 or more for adults of South Asian, Chinese and Black ethnicities)

The programme is suited to those people who are preparing for joint replacement surgery and to help the rebuilding of strength and mobility post-operation. It is also available to those who are looking for a friendly and motivating group to support them on healthy weight loss.

There is no need to be an existing Lincs Inspire member to join the programme.

Exclusion Criteria

If you fall into any of the following categories we ask that you contact your GP for advice:

  • Are currently on the National Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP), Low Calorie Diet programme
  • Pregnant women (but not post-partum)
  • Have an underlying medical cause for obesity and would benefit from more intensive clinical management than a Tier 2 service
  • Have already accessed a Tier 2 weight management service twice in the last year

Power-assisted Exercise

The Healthy Weight Management course is often combined with power-assisted exercise in the Wellness Hub.

We help hundreds of people each week keep active using our seated and recumbent power assisted exercise equipment. Many people have health conditions and they may have never used a typical ‘gym’.

Overall the biggest impact the course this has had is not only on my weight, the inches lost or how I see food but my mental health. I’ve gone from being very pessimistic feeling defeated, miserable, having low self esteem and no confidence to now being very optimistic fully motivated, more confident and bursting with energy and finally feeling confident in my own body. My family and friends are amazed at my transformation and say I’m completely different person to who I was when I stepped through the door 12 weeks ago. This course has been a lifesaver for me and I’m now fully embracing and enjoying the new healthy lifestyle change & can’t wait too see what the future holds.
