Move over, Blue Suede Shoes – the local leisure centre has a new star!
In a surprise move that’s making waves (literally), the Operations Officer of Immingham Swimming Pool has been donning a full Elvis Presley costume and belting out karaoke classics poolside to bring a little joy and laughter to members.
What started as a one-off morale booster has become a weekly highlight for visitors. Complete with rhinestones, sideburns, and unmistakable hip-shaking moves, Operations Officer Dave Varley has transformed into the “King of the Pool” – and the community can’t get enough.
It started as a bit of fun to cheer people up, and now it’s become the best part of the week. Seeing people smile, sing along, and dance around the pool makes it all worth it, even if I do have to wear fake sideburns!

Dave’s Disco Dive takes place at Immingham Swimming Pool between 8pm and 9pm on the following dates:
- Friday, 31st October
- Friday, 7th November
- Friday, 21st November
- Friday, 28th November
Expect karaoke, dancing and of course, live performances from our very own Elvis impersonator. Swimmers and spectators alike are encouraged to join in the fun – bring your best disco outfits and your favourite song requests!
