Volunteer in Leisure
Are you passionate about helping others? Could you support members of your community to keep active and improve their health and wellbeing?
We’re looking for volunteers with energy and compassion to support members of our community.
You don’t need to have experience of our schemes first hand to get involved and volunteer – everyone is welcome.
We have a variety of opportunities for all ages (16+) at Lincs Inspire and community venues in North East Lincolnshire.
Wellness Hub
About: A power-assisted exercise equipment studio at Grimsby Health & Wellbeing Centre. Equipment is ideal for people managing or recovering from long-term health problems.
- Meet and greet members
- Help to create a welcoming and supportive environment, especially those who might be visiting the centre for the first time
- Share information and experiences
- Support less digitally confident members in using our online membership and booking system
- Listen to any feedback from members and share with the Fitness Team
Disability Multi-Sports
About: A fun, weekly activity session, including adapted bikes, kurling, badminton and crafts at Grimsby Health & Wellbeing Centre.
- Meet and greet members
- With the support of the leisure centre and Care Plus Group staff, help to encourage participation in sports and craft activities.
- If you crafting is your passion, assist customers with creative activities and help set-up and prepare the activity space.
Weight Management
About: 8-week classroom-based courses, empowering people to achieve healthy and sustainable weight loss goals.
- Meet and greet participants
- Create a friendly and welcoming environment
- Help with weigh ins
- Help to encourage positive approaches to healthy eating, physical activity and wellbeing
Active Seniors
About: Weekly activities for over 50s, including: Walking Football, Walking Netball, New Age Kurling, Chorus and a Cuppa at Lincs Inspire venues
- Welcome participants and help to create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere
- Support with warmups and cool downs
- Help organise players into teams
- Assist the lead coach with refereeing sessions
- Join in with post-session refreshments in the café, helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere
School Holiday Clubs
About: Supervised activities for children aged 5-15, including Football Courses, Dance Workshops, Musical Theatre Workshops.
- Welcome children and families, helping to create a friendly and inclusive environment
- Help encourage teamwork and inclusion
- Assist with feedback from children and parents to help improve future activities
Outreach in the Community
About: engaging with the community at a range of community venues, such GP surgeries.
- Lend a hand with setting up eye catching displays
- Welcome and encourage conversation with the public
- Chat to members of the public and hand out information about the benefits of Lincs Inspire’s wellbeing schemes and how they could make a difference to their lives
- Listen to community feedback
