Cardiac Rehabilitation

A sixteen-week exercise programme tailored for those who have experienced a post-cardiac event or surgery.

Safe & Controlled Exercise

  • Weeks 1 to 8 – one weekly group exercise class session
  • Weeks 9 to 16 – two weekly gym-based circuits sessions, introducing a variety of equipment

The sessions take place in a safe and controlled environment, led by a BACPR (British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation) qualified instructor.

This programme is designed for those who have experienced a post-cardiac event or surgery.

You will get an individualised programme specific to your heart condition along with:

A safe heart rate training zone
Regular monitoring of your health
Heart rate measurements at the start and end of all sessions.

Getting Referred

Ask your Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse or your NHS Cardiovascular Exercise Professional about the Lincs Inspire Phase 4 Cardiac Rehabilitation Referral Programme.

If you are eligible, your health professional will send a referral form to the Lincs Inspire Wellbeing Team.

After you have been referred a member of the team will contact you to arrange your first session.

These sessions are funded by The National Lottery Community Fund until March 2027.

Participants pay a £10 admin fee and after completing the 16 weeks, have the option of signing up for a Lincs Inspire Leisure membership at a concessionary rate.
