Frances Hodson – Exhibition
Event Description
Frances Hodson was born in Grimsby, in 1996. As a visual artist she predominantly works with drawing, paint and sculpture. Her work concerns labour, process, colour and availability. Combining these elements, she aims to create a complex flurry of ideas which are both aesthetically pleasing but simple to engage with. This exhibition is a new series exploring colour as well as time.
Frances said: “I love working on a round canvas and circles have always featured in my work, but what these works do for me is create a constrained boundary for an exploration to view time and labour in a new way.
Where I have always worked for a specific period of time, these artworks allow me to finish when I am done - this may be after one stroke or after revisiting the canvas for hours or days.”
The exhibition room is, at times, used for other events and meetings. To check availability, please ask staff at the front desk, or prior to visiting, telephone Cleethorpes Library on 01472 323650.
