A Sensory Room at Cleethorpes Library.

A quiet and calm space within Cleethorpes Library packed full of sensory equipment and toys, that is set up just for you. Bookings now being taken. 

Hiring the Sensory Room

Available to book for exclusive use:

  • Hourly session
    £2.50 per session
  • Half day
    9am to 1pm, or 1:15pm to 5:15pm – £5
  • Full day
    9am to 5pm – £10

Suitable for one family or group – maximum four people at a time. To view the room before booking, please contact us.

Questions and Answers

The Sensory Room is primarily available by appointment, during normal library opening hours.

Telephone Cleethorpes Library on 01472 323650 to book an appointment. Walk-in appointments may be available during open hours.

Bookings are usually for an hour and there is a charge of £2.50 payable on arrival.

The room can also be booked for half a day, 9am to 1pm or 1.15pm to 5.15pm. The charge for this is £5.00.

Hire for a full day, 9am to 5pm is £10.00.

The Sensory room can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children at any one time.

Whilst everyone is welcome to use the room, it is primarily for families with children or young adults with sensory needs. The room and some equipment may also be suitable for adults with dementia and is suitable for 1 family or group at a time. The room will hold up to a maximum of 4 people at a time.

All items must remain inside the sensory room and are not currently available for loan.

Please be responsible and respectful by cleaning up and ending sessions on time. Report any concerns to Library staff before leaving. No food or drink is allowed in the sensory room.

Sensory Play Session

You may also be interested in Sensory Shake, Rattle and Read. A session specifically for children with hearing or vision loss, which includes: wonderful nursery rhymes and songs, play with sensory toys, and story time.

 

The session is signed using both British Sign Language and Makaton. Run in in partnership with NELC’s Education Team for Hearing and Vision.

From 10am to 11am every Monday. Everyone is welcome to stay and play until 12 noon and the children can explore all the sensory equipment. £2.50 per child.

The session is for children with vison or hearing loss, however if you feel your child would benefit from this session, please contact libraries@lincsinspire.com
