Ravenser Odd

Discover the fascinating story of Ravenser Odd, a lost town once built on an island at the mouth of the Humber.

Back by Popular Demand

Ravenser Odd: The Sunken Island of the Humber, delves into the history and folklore of the short-lived medieval town, which rose to wealth before being accused of piracy and stealing trade from its neighbours along the Humber.

Following the popularity of the exhibition, talks and workshops in early 2025, Cleethorpes Library will be hosting further events throughout the summer.

This project is funded by the Higher Education Innovation Fund at the University of Sussex. The exhibition and associated activities are based on research by Dr. Emily Robinson (University of Sussex) and Dr. Kathryn Maude (The National Archives), with support from Hull Maritime and Square Peg Hull.

Don’t miss the chance to discover more about this mysterious sunken island and its incredible history!
