Member of the Month
Awarded to member whose warm personality brings people together and gets them laughing and talking.
Swimmer Dawn Hargreaves is a big part of our welcoming community at Immingham pool, making the centre much more than just a place to exercise.
Dawn has made friends with the staff and most of the other regulars, including Barry Bonner, who the social side is helping, having recently lost his wife.
She’s also met her swim buddy Helen Russell through the centre, who coincidently is a fellow colleague at North East Lincolnshire Council too.
Her dedication has also seen her lose an impressive five stone in weight in the last eighteen months, which is helping to prepare her for a partial knee replacement.

For me it was about filling my time with something active, swapping the comfort eating with swimming and getting out during the winter. It’s beneficial for my joint pain because it’s non-weight bearing. For every stone in weight you lose, that’s four stone off your joints.
Dawn
“There’s a good group of friendly people here – a good ambiance. It’s really welcoming and inclusive and the staff here are lovely, even though I do give them a bit of banter!”
Dawn was nominated for the award by Operations Officer Darren Smith. Darren said:
“Dawn’s a shining example of what our community is about – supportive, encouraging and caring. She’s made loads of personal progress and is a standout nomination for the member of the month award.”
Well done to Dawn for her weight loss and a big thank you from all the Lincs Inspire team for making our leisure centre a happy, friendly and welcoming place.
