Joan & her Weight Management Course Journey

Building Confidence, Community and a Healthier Future

Meet Joan – one of our most inspiring participants. This is her story of courage, commitment and discovering a new path to health and confidence through our Weight Management Course; a journey full of motivation, community and meaningful change.

After being diagnosed with diabetes, Joan looked for a way to better manage her health and was referred onto the weight management course by her Doctors Practice and said, “This became the turning point.”

Joan was unsure of what to expect when starting the course but in the first week she lost a kilo and more importantly received practical guidance, personalised measurements and said, “I was reassured that I wasn’t starting this journey alone.”

Joan initially resisted joining traditional weight-loss groups, however, the combination of expert support and  structured sessions provided by Lincs Inspire’s weight management coach David, Joan felt reassured and explained that the sessions, “made for a friendly environment that immediately felt different and far more welcoming!”

One of the biggest surprises to Joan was the gym and facility credits included in the program. These encouraged her to try new activities that she may never have explored. Circuit training, swimming and even the recumbent machines became part of Joan’s weekly routine.

The gym felt comfortable and inclusive – a place filled with real people all working towards their own goals.”

This atmosphere is what motivated Joan to keep coming back.

Alongside the physical benefits, Joan spoke warmly about the social side of the course. Familiar faces quickly turned into friendships, which created a sense of community that made every visit enjoyable. Joan added: “Staff played a key role and offered guidance, patience and a genuine welcome!”

She has seen people of all ages and abilities taking part, including individuals using the great facilities for post-surgery rehabilitation.

Joan said, “I now recommend this Weight Management course to others enthusiastically and often!”

The weekly structure of the course was particularly valued by Joan with her busy life schedule; regular weigh-ins and clear goals that made her progress visible and motivating. She stated, “Overtime I have achieved significant weight loss and noticed real changes in my physique, confidence and energy.”

Joan described the course as: “Inviting. Confidence-building. Results-orientated.”
