Local Inspiration Women – Exhibition


Event Description



An exhibition celebrating the achievements of courageous and visionary local women from the 19th century to the present day.

Discover more about Brenda Fisher who broke the World Record for swimming the English Channel in 1951, and Lady Eugenia Doughty, a driving force behind the creation of the Grimsby Unionist Women's League, as well as many more pioneering women.

The exhibition will look at the collective identity of: Women in the War, and Women on the Docks.

Grimsby Library (foyer and local history) – Saturday 1st March to Saturday 29th March*

Cleethorpes Library – Saturday 5th April to Monday 28th April*

Waltham Library – Friday 2nd May to Saturday 31st May*
