Cleethorpes Jacuzzi

We are sorry that the jacuzzi facility has been out of action for some considerable time due to faults.

The jacuzzi is made from solid concrete and was installed at some point after the leisure centre was first opened in the early 1980s. Due to its age, repairing the current structure has proved to be not only delicate but extremely challenging. Exploratory works have taken place and pipe work replacement has also been carried out. However, despite contractor’s best efforts, the jacuzzi remains out of use.

North East Lincolnshire Council, which is responsible for the building, is continuing to consider the future facility provision within Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, including whether to replace the jacuzzi like-for-like or complete a wider redevelopment within the Health Suite.

Given the scale of the works required and costs being of significant value, it is important that the appropriate time is taken to assess the best route forward. Therefore, the jacuzzi will continue to remain closed until further notice. This is due to the importance the council is currently putting on the future provision for leisure and wellbeing, not only in Cleethorpes but across the whole of North East Lincolnshire. It must take the time it needs to review the current provision and ensure the right developments are properly planned and funding available, identified and secured.
