Environmental Pledge
We are working to become net zero and you can help us do that!
We now have environmental champions at all our sites who are helping to drive forward our environmental pledges! Here’s some of what we’re doing and how you can play your part…
Single use plastic
- We encourage our leisure members to use reusable water bottles. Why not grab yourself one of our brand new water bottles!
- If you have a plastic water bottle, please make use of the recycling bins
- Where possible we have reduced the use of single plastic at Grimsby Auditorium through changing our product lines and offering reusable cups, and where single use plastic is used, we ensure all waste is recycled.
Environmental Technology
- The stage lighting at Grimsby Auditorium has been upgraded to LED which has seen an 80% reduction in energy usage
- The four leisure centres, Bradley Football Development centre and Grimsby Auditorium buildings have all had lighting upgraded to LED
- We’re reducing the use of printed materials by encouraging our customers to use our leisure App to view and book activities, along with e-tickets at Grimsby Auditorium. But when print is needed, we use recycled paper, where possible
- When purchasing new technology or equipment the environmental rating is always taken into consideration
Travel Sustainably
- We encourage our customers and colleagues to travel to our centres sustainably. If you can, choose to walk or cycle, and if you can’t, please try to use public transport. By doing this you will help us to reduce our carbon emissions
- Employees have access to Cycle to Work scheme.
Working Together
- We are working with suppliers to reduce our environmental impact, including the waste sent to landfill
- When procuring new services, the companies’ environmental policies and procedures form part of our scoring matrix
Renewable Energy
- The Lincs Inspire website is even powered by 100% renewable energy
- All of the electricity consumed at our North East Lincolnshire facilities is generated from green renewable sources.
