Check-in for a Health Check
Free health checks are being offered this December to residents in North East Lincolnshire.
A blood pressure check and a BMI reading are used to identify whether a person is at high risk of future health complications.
The checks are being carried out by health and wellbeing team members from Lincs Inspire, across various venues in Grimsby and Cleethorpes, week commencing 16th December.
Ian Shorley-Harlow, health improvement manager, explained: “These health checks are a simple way to check a person’s overall health.
“We frequently invite people to take part in these public health checks and have in the past helped people to identify dangerously high blood pressure readings.
“Everyone is welcome, you don’t have to be an existing leisure member to pop along for a friendly chat.”
The team can also offer advice on the steps to take for those considering a New Year health kick. The team manage the charitable trusts Active Forever exercise on referral scheme and work closely with health professionals to encourage those with medical conditions take the necessary steps to a more active lifestyle.
