One year on since its launch, our online photography collection featuring historic images of Grimsby and Cleethorpes celebrates its first anniversary by sharing Christmas nostalgia.
The collection hosts over 10 thousand images, including many hidden gems of the local area from the past 150 years.
Catalogued into 20 albums, including ‘Streets’, ‘Shops’, ‘Schools’, ‘People’ and ‘Docks’ to name a few, the collection is being added to all the time.
Between July to September this year, the site received 3,187 visits and 74,331 page views.
It’s rewarding hearing stories about the joy reminiscence brings to people. What better time for nostalgia than the festive season!

History enthusiasts can order prints of their favourite images online, ranging from postcard size to large, framed canvases. A unique Christmas present for those fascinated with the area’s heritage and history.
The website has been made possible thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and was part of a wider past project called Streets and Their Stories.
