Legendary Leisure Member
For more than three decades, Dave Siddle has been a familiar and inspiring face at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, earning him a well-deserved recognition as Member of the Month.
Dave has been a loyal member of the centre for an incredible 34 years and has continued to make fitness a priority since becoming a wheelchair user in 1990. He brightens our centre with his positivity and inspirational attitude.
Throughout the years, Dave has made a close-knit group of friends through the gym; jokingly referring to themselves as “The Slackers”!
He particularly enjoys using the new accessible fixed resistance equipment from Pulse, including the wheelchair-friendly seated row and chest press machines.
Following a recent tendon tear, Dave has worked hard to return to exercise with support from Fitness Instructor and close friend Tracey Thompson.
Dave always makes time to come to the gym and it’s a massive credit to him and his personal progress. He’s become a close personal friend to me and I am immensely proud of him.

Dave credits the gym team and fellow members as a major reason why he continues to attend regularly and stay motivated.
“The social side is a massive part of it,” Dave explained. “I feel supported and part of a real community here.”
Dave is passionate about encouraging others to take that first step into fitness, especially those who may feel nervous about starting out.
“Give it a try it!” he said. “It’s a friendly and supportive place, so much more than just a gym. It gets you out of the house and gets the endorphins flowing. The staff have offered endless support – it really is like a family here.”
Massive congratulations to Dave for being awarded Member of the Month and a big thank you for being such an inspirational part of our community.
