Meet Immingham’s most active member – Barry Bonner! At 78 years old he is still lapping the rest of us and show no signs of slowing down!
Barry Bonner has been a longstanding Lincs Inspire member for over three decades. During his time at Immingham he has become a much-loved face at the heart of the centre. Staff and members alike were eager to nominate Barry for Member of the Month citing his “friendly nature, sharp wit and great sense of humour.”
Barry is also a wonderful example of perseverance and the power of a positive mindset. After facing a difficult year, he has continued to show up for his weekly fitness routine – a reminder of how important it is to priorities the activities you enjoy; for the benefit of your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
At 78, Barry proves that age truly is just a number. He is a shining example of what it means to stay active, healthy and engaged with life. The staff at Immingham hold Barry in the highest regard and it is a privilege that they are proud they are able to call him “one of their own.” His visits never go unnoticed – each time he walks through the door, he brings with him the same warmth and energy that has made him such a beloved part of the Immingham Family.

Barry has been attending Immingham Swimming Pool, even before I joined Lincs Inspire, and I have no doubt he will outlast us all! Even after all these years – his positivity and determination every single week is nothing short of remarkable!
