Pickleball
One of the fastest growing sports in the UK is coming to Grimsby Health & Wellbeing Centre, offering local people the opportunity to be part of something special.
During May, Grimsby Health & Wellbeing Centre will be hosting two free taster sessions of the increasingly popular sport pickleball.
Played on a badminton sized court, with a net slightly lower than tennis, pickleball is racket sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis.
Originating in the US in the 1960s, the sport has attracted over 4000 estimated players in the UK to date according to Pickleball England.
We can’t wait to welcome people to these free and sociable taster sessions. Pickleball is a great way for people of all ages to keep active and most importantly have fun! Come along and see for yourself!
Josh Dellow, Community Activity Coordinator, Lincs Inspire
The two taster sessions take place on Monday May 13 and May 20, 11am to 12 noon on both days in the Sports Hall at Grimsby Health & Wellbeing Centre (Grimsby Leisure Centre original site).
Courts will also be available to hire for pickleball at Grimsby Health and Wellbeing Centre during certain times from June.
Both taster sessions and court hire can be booked via the Lincs Inspire Leisure App or by calling (01472) 323100.
